The first look poster of upcoming Bollywood Science Fiction film 2.0 has been launched today at an event in Mumbai. The movie is a sequel to Enthiran aka Robot which was released in 2010. The film features Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar, and Amy Jackson in lead roles.
The film is written and directed by S. Shankar and is produced by Subaskaran Allirajah, founder of London based Lyca productions. 2.0 is co-written by B. Jeyamohan. The music album for the film will be composed by A.R. Rahman.
The film features Rajinikanth playing the roles of Dr. Vaseegaran and Robot Chitti opposite to Akshay Kumar who will be the villain (crazy doctor) in the film. Alongside Akshay and Rajinikanth, the film also features Amy Jackson, who is first time woking with Rajinikanth. The film also cast Sushanshu Pandey, Adil Hussain, Riyaz Khan, Kaizaad Kotwal, Maya Krishnan, and Kalabhavan Shajohn.
The makers of the film had also appointed popular Hollywood Stunt Choreographer Kenny Bates, who is famous for his work in top action films like Transformers, Pearl Harbor, and Die Hard.
Talking about today’s launch event, Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar had hosted the poster launch event. Alongside the 2.0 team, Bollywood celebrities like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Kamal Hassan were also present at the event.
“To work with Shankar is difficult. He is a perfectionist. That is why he is one of the biggest directors. This picture as 3D is a different experience. But the truth is Akshay Kumar is the hero,” said Super Star Rajinikanth.
“I just wanted to see Rajinikanth. Most amazing man. I have a lot of respect for him. I wasn’t invited. I got to know the was launch here. So came here. Akshay Kumar is the only actor who has had growth in our industry. Rest of us are stagnant,” said Salman Khan.
The film is set to be released in three languages- Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil next year in 3D.
