Asus on Wednesday announced the Zenfone 3 Zoom, as well as Google Tango and Daydream-ready ZenFone AR smartphone at CES 2017. Asus ZenFone AR is the world’s first smartphone with 8GB of RAM and both Tango and Daydream-ready.

ZenFone 3 Zoom is a smartphone targeted at mobile photography enthusiasts. Encased in an aluminum body and is being touted as “thinnest and lightest” smartphone. It is powered by a 5000mAh battery, which is also a highlight of the device. It is only 7.9mm thick and weighs in at 170 grams.
As for the specs, the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom features a 5.5-inch (1080 x 1920 pixels) full-HD AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 cover on top. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and ships with different RAM and storage configurations as the company has not revealed complete details of SKUs though it has mentioned a top-end 4GB of RAM and 128GB storage configuration.
ZenFone 3 Zoom sports a dual-rear camera setup, with one 12-megapixel with Sony IMX362 sensor, and f/1.7 aperture, and the other 12-megapixel featuring a 2.3x optical zoom – allowing for a total 12x zoom. Just like ZenFone AR, it features a TriTech + autofocus system, dual-PDAF, 4-axis OIS (optical image stabilisation) and 3-axis EIS (electron image stabilisation). It features a 13-megapixel front facing camera with a Sony IMX214 sensor, an f/2.0 aperture, and a screen flash feature.
It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat instead of 6.0 Marshmallow. The smartphone will be available in February 2017. Prices for different variants will be announced at the time of local release.
