Samsung Launched Galaxy A Series Smartphones; All You Need To Know

Samsung launched three Galaxy A Series smartphones namely Galaxy A3 (2017), Galaxy A5 (2017), and Galaxy A7 (2017). The company has unveiled these smartphone ahead of CES trade show starting from tomorrow. Samsung haven’t disclosed any price details yet, but it will be available in Russian market from mid January. The company will also be launching these smartphones in other markets globally.

Let’s talk about what’s common in these smartphones:

Galaxy A (2017) Series smartphones comes with IP68 dust and water resistant certfication and sports metal frame with 3D glass back panel. The all new Galaxy A series smartphones features advanced camera technology, if compared to their predecessors. The cameras are designed to capture images in low light conditions. According to the company, the devices also features a simplified camera UX developed to ease switching between modes, back and front cameras, or applying filters and other effects. All the new Galaxy A series smartphones will be made available in four color options-Black Sky, Gold Sand, Peach Cloud, and Blue Mist.

Other common features include support for 256GB microSD card and a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button. These new smartphones also include support for fast charging and USB Type-C connectivity. All the three smartphones run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, support dual-SIM setup with 4G LTE Cat. 6 connectivity. Other connectivity options include- Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, GPS, and FM Radio. Sensors on board Galaxy A series smartphones include-proximity sensor, accelerometer, geomagnetic, ambient light sensor, and barometer.




Let’s start with Galaxy A3 (2017) smartphone- It sports 4.7-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) Super AMOLED display. The smartphone is powered by 1.6GHz octa-core SoC and paired with 2GB of RAM. It sports 13MP rear camera with LED flash and on the other hand, it features front facing camera for taking selfies. It has 16GB internal storage which is further expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. The smartphone packs 2350mAh battery with fast charging technology.

Getting on to Galaxy A5 (2017), the smartphone sports 5.2-inch FHD (1080×1920 pixels) Super AMOLED display and is powered by 1.9GHz octa-core SoC paired with 3GB of RAM. It comes with 16MP rear camera with LED flash along with 16MP front facing camera. The device features 32GB of internal storage expandable further up to 256GB via microSD card. The smartphone is packed with 3000mAh battery with support for fast charging.

The last introduced Galaxy A series smartphone, A7 (2017), sports 5.7-inch FHD (1080×1920 pixels) Super AMOLED display. It receives its power from 1.9GHz octa-core SoC and 3GB RAM. In terms of camera, A7 (2017) features 16MP rear and front camera with same apertures i.e. f/1.9. It has 32GB of internal storage, expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. The smartphone is packed with 3600mAh battery with fast charging support.

The company haven’t revealed the exact specifics of the SoC used in these three smartphones. The speakers on the three devices are placed near power button on the rear right side.
