Uber is all set to launch its food delivery service called “UberEATS” in India soon. The company is currently asking restaurants and delivery services across the country to join the platform by filling out the forms, Form 1 (form restaurants) & Form 2 (for delivery services). The company haven’t disclosed any further details regarding the launch and its availability across the country.

UberEATS was first introduced in Los Angeles back in 2014 and later covered 58 cities worldwide including Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo. The company is hoping for great results with its India launch. It will be a major step in the expansion of UberEATS, said the company.

Not only restaurants and delivery services, Uber has also opened the gates for its consumers so that they could suggest their favorite restaurants by filling out this simple form. It will be tough for Uber to make its place in the Indian market as there are other food delivery apps that are popular among Indian citizens and are offering great deals on food across the country.

However, Uber is already popular in India with its ridesharing app, so, it will not take much time to get its UberEATS food delivery service settled in Indian market. Uber may launch its food delivery service in cities like Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi NCR, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Mumbai initially. Uber haven’t confirmed the above mentioned cities yet.

“I am incredibly excited about bringing UberEATS to India. This is a significant investment, it spans multiple cities and regions, and it has the potential to change the food industry – with the push of a button – in one of the most vibrant food cultures in the world,” said Asia Pacific’s head of UberEATS, Allen Penn.
