Huawei has launched Honor 9 in China and the same will go on sale starting June 16, 2017 via Vmall, JD, Tmall and other authorized retailers. The all new smartphone comes at a starting price of CNY 2,299 for 4GB/ 64GB, CNY 2,699 for 6GB/ 64GB, and the last variant featuring 6GB/ 128GB memory configuration is priced at CNY 2,999. It will be available in three color options- Black, Blue, and Amber Gold.
In terms of specifications, the Honor 9 sports 5.15-inch FHD (1080×1920 pixels) LTPS (Low Temperature PolySilicon) display with pixel density of 428ppi. It is powered by company’s own Kirin 960 octa-core (four cores @ 2.4GHz & four cores @ 1.8GHz) SoC paired with your choice of RAM i.e. 4GB or 6GB. It comes with 64GB or 128GB of internal storage which can be expanded further up to 256GB via microSD card.
It features dual rear camera setup having 20MP monochrome sensor & 12MP RGB sensor with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF (phase detection auto focus), dual tone LED flash, and supports 4K video recording. On the other hand it features 8MP front facing camera for taking selfies and supports 1080p video recording. The device runs on company’s own UI called EMUI v5.1 based on Android 7.0 Nougat.
It’s a dual SIM (Nano SIM) hybrid smartphone that comes packed with 3200mAh non removable battery. The fingerprint sensor comes embedded in the home button rather than on real panel like Honor 8. Connectivity options on board Huawei Honor 9 include- WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth, 4G LTE/ VoLTE, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, IR port, and USB Type-C port. Sensors on the smartphone other than fingerprint are proximity, accelerometer, gyroscope, and ambient light.
The company also launched Huawei Pay, its own mobile payment solution just like Apple Pay and Samsung Pay, alongside Honor 9. The device is up for pre-order via different online retailers and will go on sale on June 16 i.e. on Friday.
