HTC has launched its high-end smartphone in India after unveiling it internationally a month ago. The smartphone comes at a price tag of Rs. 51,990 (approx $800) and is up for pre-order on company’s online store offering free leather case worth Rs. 1,999. HTC will start shipping pre-ordered units from June 26 and the same will also be made available via Amazon India and authorized offline retailers across the country from the last week of June in Brilliant Black and Amazing Silver color options.

The company has also introduced Edge Sense that lets you interact with the smartphone with a simple squeeze. It’s a smart gesture that unlocks a package of device’s functionality. You can take photos, send texts, launch your favorite app and much more by just squeezing the smartphone. You can also configure it according to your need to access wide range of applications and functions. You can also launch voice assistants like Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa using Edge Sense. Amazon Alexa compatibility and availability may vary by region.

The device also comes integrated with HTC Sense Companion, an AI that learns from the user. It keeps track of  your daily activities or behavior and provide recommendations. The more you use the phone, the more it learns. The smartphone comes bundled with latest version of HTC USonic earphone featuring active noise cancellation with the ability to tune audio to your hearing. HTC U11 also packs an upgraded version of company’s BoomSound Hi-Fi edition speakers to deliver 100 percent more loudness and 150 percent improvement in Dynamic Range Audio. The tweeter provides richness in sound while the woofer sports a new speaker and improved magnetic circuit design for louder, clearer, and deeper bass tunes.




HTC U11 also houses four omni-directional microphones with company’s new Acoustic Focus tech for 3D audio recording. With Acoustic Focus, you can zoom in on the video to target your subject and amplify their specific sounds.

The flagship sports 3D glass on both front and back side and is made up of metal featuring 5.5-inch QHD (2560×1440 pixels) Super LCD display that comes with 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is powered by 2.45GHz 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 6GB of RAM. It comes with 128GB of internal storage that can be extended up to 2TB via microSD card. There is another variant that the company haven’t launched in India featuring 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

The smartphone features 12MP (HTC UltraPixel 3 with 1.4-micron pixel) main camera with UltraSpeed autofocus, BSI sensor, OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), f/1.7 aperture, dual LED flash, acoustic focus, 4K video recording with 3D audio, slow motion video, HDR boost, Hyperlapse and face detection. On the other hand, it features 16MP camera with BSI sensor, auto selfie, live make-up, voice selfie, HDR boost, and supports 1080p (FHD) video recording. HTC U11 has achieved highest DxOMark score of 90, making it the highest rated smartphone ever in DxOMark history.

It’s a dual SIM (Nano) smartphone that comes packed with 3000mAh battery rated to deliver up to 25 hours of talk time and 14 days of standby time. It also packs an extreme power saving mode and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. Connectivity options on board HTC U11 inlcude- 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C port, and GPS/ A-GPS/ GLONASS. Sensors on the smartphone include proximity, accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, magnetometer, motion G-sensor, sensor hub, edge sensor, and fingerprint sensor that comes embedded in device’s home button. Other special features include always on voice commands, motion launch, sensor hub for activity tracking, HTC connect, quiet ring on pick up, pocket mode, and flip to mute.
