Xiaomi has launched its two flagship devices Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus at its Beijing event in China. Both the smartphones sports Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor. Mi 5s Plus features dual rear camera. Both smartphones will be available exclusively in Gold, Rose Gold, Silver, and White color variants.
In terms of specifications, The all new Xiaomi Mi 5s features a 5.15-inch FHD display with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels. To boost the phone’s brightness, the company embedded 16 ultra-bright LED lights into the display. While Mi 5s Plus sports a 5.7-inch display with the same resolution.
Mi 5s comes with 12MP rear camera with Sony IMX 378 sensor and an f/2.0 aperture. While Mi 5s Plus bears sports 13MP dual rear cameras. Both smartphones support PDAF autofocus, and features 4MP front-facing camera. Talking about the performance, Mi 5s is powered by 2.15GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor coupled with 3GB OR 4GB RAM. While Mi 5s Plus features 2.35GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor paired with 4GB OR 6GB RAM.
Mi 5s also features ultrasonic fingerprint sensor on its home button. On the other hand, Mi 5s Plus has a fingerprint sensor embedded on the rear panel. The fingerprint sensor will not get damaged easily and will also offer same level of speed and accuracy as regular planar sensors.
Both the smartphones supports dual SIM and comes 4G LTE ready. Other connectivity options include NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, and GPS/A-GPS. Sensors on the phone include an Gyroscope, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient Light Sensor, Magnetometer, and Barometer.
Let’s talk about the pricing, The Xiaomi Mi 5s 3GB RAM and 64GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1,999 (appx. Rs. 20,000), while the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant will cost you CNY 2,299 (appx. Rs. 22,900). On the other hand, Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage costs CNY 2,299 (appx. Rs. 22,900) and the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage variant has been priced at CNY 2,599 (appx. Rs. 26,000).
The company will be selling Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus via flash sales on JD.com and Mi.com Thursday onward.
