Xiaomi has announced three new additions to its Redmi series at an event in china. These are the three smartphones- Redmi 4 Standard Edition, Redmi 4 Pro Edition, and Redmi 4A. Redmi 4 and Redmi 4 Pro are currently up for pre-orders for their first sale that goes live this Monday while Redmi 4A will go on sale from November 11.
Talking about the Redmi 4 Pro Edition, the smartphone sports a 5-inch FHD (1080×1920 px) display. Redmi 4 Prime is powered by 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC bundled with Adreno 506 GPU. It features 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which is also expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD card. The smartphone also features Bluetooth v4.2 which can not be seen in other two variants.
Except above listed specifications, all the specifications are same as Redmi 4 (Standard Edition).
The Redmi 4 Pro Edition sports same 13-megapixel rear camera with phase-detection autofocus (PDAF) as Redmi 4. The only change that can be seen is dual-tone dual-LED flash. The smartphone is bundled with same 4,100 mAh battery, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, 5-megapixel front facing camera.
The smartphone also features fingerprint sensor at the back. Other sensors include- Accelerometer, Proximity, Infrared, Gyroscope, and Ambient light sensor. Connectivity options include- 4G VoLTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS.
The smartphone runs company’s latest version of MIUI i.e. MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It comes in Dark Grey, Gold, and Rose Gold colors. Redmi 4 Pro Edition is priced at 899 Yuan (appx. $133 | Rs.8,800).
