Xiaomi has announced three new additions to its Redmi series at an event in China. These are the three smartphones- Redmi 4 Standard Edition, Redmi 4 Pro Edition, and Redmi 4A. Redmi 4 and Redmi 4 Pro are currently up for pre-orders for their first sale that goes live this Monday while Redmi 4A will go on sale from November 11..
Let’s talk about what you are here for, Redmi 4 Standard Edition comes with 5-inch (1280×720 px) HD IPS 2.5D curved display with a pixel density of 296 PPI and 72%NTSC color gamut. The smartphone is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 64-bit processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. The phone also sports Adreno 505 GPU.
It features 16GB of internal storage which can expanded further up to 128GB via MicroSD card. The device runs latest version of company’s MIUI based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Redmi 4 Standard Edition sports 13MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus). and is capable of recording FHD (1080×1920 px) videos. On the other hand, it has 5MP front facing camera with f/2.2 aperture. It’s a dual SIM (Micro + Nano/MicroSD) smartphone having Hybrid setup. It has a metal build magnesium alloy body.
The smartphone also features fingerprint sensor at the back. Other sensors include- Accelerometer, Proximity, Infrared, Gyroscope, and Ambient light sensor. Connectivity options include- 4G VoLTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS + GLONASS. The smartphone is budled with 4,100 mAh battery that also supports fast charging.
Redmi 4 Standard variant is availabke exclusively in Grey, Silver, and Gold color variants and has been priced at CNY 699 (appx. $103 | Rs.6,911). As stated above, the smartphone is currently up for pre-orders and will go live for sale this Monday in China.
