Samsung Gear S3 Smartwatch Launched In India In Two Variants

Samsung has recently introduced a new smartwatch in Indian market which comes in two variants- Classic and Frontier. The smartwatch was initially launched at IFA 2016. It will be made available at all authorized Samsung dealerships across the country by January 18. Samsung Gear S3 has been priced at Rs. 28,500.

Gear S3 is built with stainless steel which provide more durability while its frontier variant features rugged design and comes with a MIL-STD-810G rating. The smartwatch sports a rotating bezel which allows users to pick up the calls, open received messages, turn up/down the volume, snooze alarms, or even scroll through apps without touching the display. The bezel does a lot more than that. You can even switch between screens by rotating the bezel.

The Gear S3 comes with a built-in speaker that lets you make or take calls directly from the device. It also has a built-in GPS technology to locate or to track down your position. According to the company, Gear S3 can run up to 4 days on a single charge. It also features fast charging technology that charges up the smartwatch quickly. You can even charge the device by putting it on wireless charging dock for wireless charging.

It has been rated IP68 which means it can withstand dust and water. The watch can be dipped 1.5 meters or for up to 30 minutes underwater, however, you can’t take it for swimming or diving purposes. You can download apps you need from the Gear App store. Gear S3 comes with voice assistant called ‘S Voice’ which, on activating, allows you to search the web, call or text, or set reminders with your voice. It also has built-in Altimeter, Barometer, and Speedometer. You can also keep track of your health and monitor your workouts by syncing your Gear S3 with S Health App. The smartwatch can auto-track six types of exercises, claims company.

In terms of specifications, Gear S3 sports 1.3-inch always-on Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 360×360 pixels and comes with Gorilla Glass SR+ protection. It is powered by a 1GHz dual-core Exynos 7270 processor paired with 768MB of RAM and has 4GB of internal storage. The smartwatch sports a embedded SIM that allows it to connect to high speed LTE network. Other connectivity options include- BT4.2, Wi-Fi b/g/n, NFC, MST, and GPS/Glonass. Sensors on board Gear S3 include- Accelerometer, Gyroscope, HRM, Barometer, and Ambient light sensor. It runs on Tizen Based Wearable OS 2.3.2 instead of Android Wear and is packed with 380mAh battery.

It comes with 15 pre-loaded designs and more available at the Gear App Store. You can even design your own watch face and Always on Display. You can also swap bands to change the look of your Gear S3 by selecting your choice band from the wide selection of bands from Samsung.
