President Donald Trump has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit the United States on a phone call. According to White House, Trump called Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi four days after taking over the Presidency.
Trump discussed issues such as trade, defence and terrorism over a phone call, said White House. Trump described India as true friend and partner in addressing challenges around the world. Both discussed opportunities to strengthen the relationship between the two countries in areas such as the economy and defence.
Donald Trump, during election campaigns, had talked about India positively. He said that he will strengthen the terms between the two countries. It looks like he has started working on it and is expecting to welcome Narendra Modi later this year.
“Mr Trump and Mr Modi resolved to stand shoulder to shoulder in the global fight against terrorism,” added the US statement. Donald Trump has always praised India for its bureaucratic reform and economic growth.
