YouTube has introduced a new way to use YouTube app which will allow users to share and discuss the video or chat within the app. The feature has only been introduced in Canada as of now, however, it will soon be rolled out in other parts of the world.
The Shared tab feature has been rolled out in Canada only, but Canadians can share it in all parts around the world. In this way other country people can also make use of the feature without the feature being officially launched.
Here’s the what a Google Blog post reads- “And there’s more great news – this feature will start rolling out today to all YouTube app users in Canada, but as you share videos with your friends and family around the world, they’ll also get to use the new Shared tab themselves”
Previously, people had to switch apps to share videos and discuss it, but now, YouTube users can share, discuss, chat just like other messaging apps within its own app. You can also reply with another video, invite others to the conversation, and play video in the chat box. It will definitely make the sharing process more easier and faster.
You must be wondering, why Google chose Canada first? Here is the answer, when it comes to sharing Canadians tops the list and according to Google they share videos 15% more often than other users around the globe. So, they deserves to taste it first.
This feature is available on both Android and iOS app in Canada. For those outside of Canada can ask their friend (if any) residing in Canada to share video or send an invite for the same. Once being added, you will be able to share and chat within the YouTube app just like Canadians.
To recall, YouTube has been testing this feature since May, 2016 and has finally rolled out it in Canada first. Google haven’t shared any further details on its roll out in other parts of the world.
