The launch of Nothing Phone 2 in India is scheduled to take place within the next few weeks. The CEO of Nothing, Carl Pei, and the company itself have been teasing the handset’s design and specifications over the past month. Prior to the debut of the second smartphone, Pei showcased the display of the upcoming Nothing Phone 2, hinting that it may not feature the left-positioned hole-punch camera cutout seen on the Nothing Phone 1. The confirmed features of the upcoming smartphone include a 6.7-inch display and a more powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, an upgrade from its predecessor’s Snapdragon 778G+ chip.

Recently, Pei shared what appears to be a screenshot from the upcoming Nothing Phone 2 on Twitter. The screenshot reveals a different home screen design compared to last year’s model. Notably, there is a small gap between the clock and the top left corner of the screen, indicating that the upcoming phone may feature a centrally positioned hole-punch display cutout for the selfie camera instead of a left-positioned one.

However, it’s important to note that the teased design doesn’t explicitly show the presence of a centrally-positioned hole-punch cutout, as the screenshot is merely from the purported smartphone. The screenshot suggests that the Nothing Phone 2 will have a similar software design to the first-generation model. The company had previously confirmed that the Nothing Phone 2 would feature a 6.7-inch display.

The company has also confirmed other specifications of the phone, including the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and a 4,700 mAh battery. Additionally, Nothing hinted at a redesigned rear Glyph interface when announcing the smartphone’s launch date.

In terms of sustainability, Nothing claims that the Nothing Phone 2 incorporates environmentally friendly materials. The phone uses 100 percent recycled tin on nine circuit boards, 100 percent recycled copper foil on the main circuit board, and over 90 percent recycled steel on all 28 steel stamping parts. Furthermore, approximately 80 percent of the plastic parts are sustainably sourced. Additionally, the final assembly plants of the smartphone are powered by 100 percent renewable energy, according to the company.
