Apple integrates PayPal in App Store, iTunes, Apple Music
Apple integrates PayPal as an option for payments in its App Store, iTunes, Apple Music, and iBooks. You can still make payments using your debit/ credit cards or you can opt out for PayPal, all up to you.
Apple will be rolling out the new payment method in United States, Canada, UK, Mexico, Australia, Austria, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain. PayPal customers will be able to pay for Apple services across iPad, iPhone, Mac and iPod touch using their PayPal account.
“PayPal’s availability across Apple’s services further expands our vision of providing customers a variety of ways to easily make mobile purchases, such as asking Siri to make a payment using the PayPal app,” Bill Ready, EVP, COO, PayPal.
You can start using PayPal as your payment method by selecting “PayPal” from Account Settings in the App Store, iTunes, iBooks, and Apple Music. You can select PayPal as your primary payment option and by doing so, all future purchases will be charged automatically to your PayPal account.
The new payment method also brings PayPal’s One Touch feature which allow Apple users to simply pay across eligible sites using their fingerprint. With PayPal’s One Touch payment method, you don’t have to enter your PayPal account credentials such as username and password every time you make a purchase. This feature is only available for those who want it and works on all Apple devices including Apple TV and Apple Watch.
