Amazon has quietly launched its music streaming service Amazon Prime Music in India. It’s a great news for existing prime members as the newly added service gives them access to millions of songs streaming on Prime Music. There’s now one more reason for those who are not yet signed up for Amazon’s Prime membership.

Amazon was offering its music streaming service in India to Echo device users only but not anymore. Prime members can now also access Prime Music which is now available on Android, iOS, and Web. You can also become a prime member at Rs. 999 per annum. Initially, the price was set to Rs. 499 but later it got hiked to Rs. 999 per year when Amazon introduced its Prime Video service.

If you are not sure that Prime membership is right for you then you can give it a try as Amazon is offering a 30-day free trial. At Rs. 999 paid annually, you get unlimited access to Prime Video, free same-day or two-day delivery applicable to hundreds of thousands of products, free delivery on prime marked products, and also access to over 2 million songs streaming on Prime Music. Amazon has also integrated its voice assistant Alexa into the app allowing you to explore Amazon Music using your voice/ commands, just tap on the Alexa icon and start exploring ad-free music across tens of millions of songs.

Yes, you heard that right, Prime users have access to over tens of millions of songs which also include international music apart from Hindi/ Bollywood music. The platform is also offering music in these regional languages- Bengali, Bhojpuri, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Rajasthani, Tamil, and Telugu. Users can set their language preferences at the time of logging in or by going through settings. It will then recommend you music or curated playlists across moods, activities, genres, artists, and decades according to your preferences.

Amazon Prime Music

Amazon recently signed a deal with Indian’s largest music label T-Series to bring its catalog to the Prime Music. Not just it, the e-commerce company has also tied up a deal with Zee Music, Tips Music, Warner Music Group, Sony Music, and more.

To get started, you have to sign-in using your email ID or mobile number and password linked to your prime subscription. Then, you must enter your debit/ credit card info along with billing info before you start enjoying Amazon Prime Music. Don’t worry, Amazon won’t charge you a penny until you subscribe to its add-on services or purchase a song.

The service is still more affordable at Rs. 83.50 per month than Apple Music or Google Play Music which are offering access to their music catalog at Rs. 120 per month or Rs. 99 per month. And don’t forget the services listed above including Prime Video. The Prime subscription is the best deal you are gonna get because it’s offering a lot more and with the addition of Prime Music, it’s a win-win! If you are a student and just into music then you should head over to Apple Music offering its services at Rs. 60 per month.
