Nokia 6 (2018) launched, powered by Snapdragon 630 SoC

HMD Global owned Nokia has launched a newer version of Nokia 6 which was launched last year in January. Nokia made a comeback with Nokia 6 smartphone and once again launched the same smartphone with different specifications as the first smartphone of 2018.

Not taking much of your time, Nokia 6 (2018) is up for pre-order in China as of now, however, it is expected to be launched in other regions including India soon. The smartphone comes in two storage configurations- 4GB/ 32GB and 4GB/ 64GB priced at CNY 1,499 (approx $230 Or Rs. 14,650) and CNY 1,699 (approx $260 Or Rs. 16,600) respectively. The first sale is on January 10, you can pre-order it via Suning in Black and SIlver color options.

Coming to the specifications, the smartphone sports 5.5-inch FHD (1080×1920 pixels) IPS display with 16:9 aspect ratio and on top, there is the Corning Gorilla Glass. It is powered by 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 octa-core SoC paired with Adreno 508 GPU and 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. The internal storage can be expanded further up to 128GB via MicroSD card.

Nokia 6 features 16MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, autofocus, PDAF (phase detection autofocus), Panorama, HDR, and dual-tone LED flash. On the front side, the device features 8MP selfie camera with same f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree wide angle lens. Nokia 6 also packs company’s dual-sight aka Bothie technology allowing users to capture photos from rear and front camera simultaneously. The functionality is located within the camera app and users/ creators can go live using both front and back cameras at the same time to Facebook Live or YouTube Live.

The smartphone sports metal unibody design made of 6000 series Aluminum just like Nokia 6 (2017). The fingerprint sensor comes mounted on the rear side of the smartphone instead at the front and with the newer version, Nokia has also replaced capacitive keys with on-screen navigation buttons. It runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat which will be upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo soon.

It’s a dual SIM smartphone that supports hybrid configuration which means, you can insert either two SIMs or one SIM plus MicroSD card. The smartphone comes packed with 3000mAh battery and supports fast charging technology. Connectivity options onboard Nokia 6 (2018) include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v5.0, FM Radio, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors on the smartphone include proximity, accelerometer, ambient light, and magnetometer.
