Kickass Torents Is Back Online But With Different Domain

KickassTorrents‘ owner Artem Vaulin has been arrested in Poland and charged in US recently for running world’s most visited piracy website KAT.cr. The website is facing charges worth &1 billion for online piracy.

All related domains including KAT.cr were seized by different authorities but as expected, the website is back online with different domain in the form of clone sites.

Verge reported that it has received an e-mail from the developers of such clone site named KAT.am. They claimed that “the site is hosted on multiple cloud servers to prevent blockade, and the hosting information is well hidden behind cloudflare.” They also claimed that they have improved KickassTorrents by adding a mobile version of the site. They further said that the site “will has the complete torrent database of KAT, including the comments, user information intact.”

According to the Department of Justice, Vaulin has been charged for running today’s most visited illegal file-sharing website and was responsible for unlawfully distributing well over $1 billion of copyrighted materials.

It is now impossible to completely remove online piracy. Those who run these piracy sites can only be discouraged. It will be interesting to see what happens next.
