Donald Trump mostly seemed defensive in the first Presidential Debate as Clinton repeatedly accused him over his temperament, his past comments on Women and race. She also accused him for perpetuating a “racist lie” with birther movement.

Clinton delivered a strong performance in first presidential debate. Since democratic convention, Clinton’s Presidential race was slowly fading away day-by-day. But after the first debate, Clinton is back in the race leading Trump as most of the public came seemed to be in favor of Clinton.

Clinton stood calm while Trump loses his temperament during first debate. She also faced some of Trump’s attacks patiently. She demonstrated her command policy and her sense of humor.

Trump made some effective points on the economy and jobs in the beginning. He hit Clinton on trade and her political record, issues that helped him draw attention till now. But overall, Trump’s preparation was not enough for the first debate to face Clinton.

Trump hit Clinton saying “It’s all words, it’s all soundbites”. He also added that Clinton was a “typical politician: all talk, no action”.

Clinton replied “Words matter when you run for president, and they really do matter when you are president.”

She added, “I think Donald just criticized me for preparing for this debate. And yes, I did. And you know what else I prepared for? I prepared to be President. And that is a good thing.”

Clinton also hit Trump over his refusal to release tax returns. She said, “Why won’t he release his tax returns?” “Maybe he is not as rich as he says he is, Maybe he is not as charitable as he claims to be or Maybe he doesn’t want the American people to know that he has paid nothing in federal taxes.”

The best moment was when she accused Trump for questioning Barack Obama’s citizenship. She also said, “he has a long record of engaging in racist behavior and the birther lie was a very hurtful one.”

Trump hit Clinton back saying “You treated him (Barack Obama) with terrible disrespect and I watch the way you talk now about how lovely everything is, it doesn’t work that way”. He added “When you try to act holier than thou, it really doesn’t work.”

The debate highlighted Trump’s false claims as he made inaccurate statements – from laws regarding policing, his support for the Iraq War and his contention that Clinton was behind the birther conspiracy. Donald Trump’s freewheeling way of preparing for the debate proved to be ineffective during the debate in front of Clinton.
