Redmi Note 3 Is Now Finally Receiving Marshmallow Update

The highest selling smartphone of Xiaomi in India is now finally receiving marshmallow through a 1.3GB OTA (Over-The-Air) update. This update comes after a long period of beta testing. This update also brings several key MIUI updates and optimizations to the device. This update brings the MIUI version to 8.1.1.0. According to several reports, another small update with version number 8.1.4.0 is under beta testing as of now.

The Marshmallow update for the Redmi Note 3 has been in development practically since the phone released. Whether or not the device will be considered by Xiaomi for Nougat update is yet to be seen.




To update your Note 3, open the updater app and tap on “Check for updates.” In some cases, when you’re connected to WiFi, it will directly show the update and even notify you. Tap on “Download” and then after it gets downloaded start installing it. Your device should have sufficient battery before installing the update. You should back up your smartphone before installing the update.
