Aamir Khan starer Dangal grabbed the award in Best Film category at this years’ Jio Filmfare Awards. The Bollywood movie was released on December 23, 2016 (India) and has recently crossed 360-crore mark at the box-office collection. It became the first Bollywood film to enter 350 crore club.
Dangal remained the highlight of the award ceremony as the film starer Aamir Khan won the Best Actor award. Nitesh Tiwari, movie’s director, also collected the award in Best Director category, while, Shyan Kaushal bagged the Best Action award. The film collected the biggest awards of the night.
Aamir Khan, with Dangal, broke his own record by entering the 350-crore club. The film is still running in cinema as it has collected over 4 crore on its 23rd day. It will be interesting to see if the movie touches the 400-crore mark.
Dangal stars Aamir Khan as Mahavir Singh Phogat, Sakshi Tanwar as Mahavir Singh Phogat’s wife, Fatima Sana Shaikh as Geeta Phogat, Suhani Malhotra as Babita Phogat, Suhani Bhatnagar as young Babita, and Zaira Wasim as young Geeta.
According to the story of the film, Mahavir Singh Phogat gave up wrestling to obtain gainful employment but he never gave up the thought of winning an international gold medal for the country. He trains his daughters, Geeta and Babita, to become wrestlers and win international gold medal for the country.
