Meizu has introduced a new smartphone, a successor to M5 in Chinese market called “M5s” which will go on sale starting February 20, 2017 i.e. from Monday. It comes in two storage variants- 16GB & 32GB. The 16GB variant has been priced at CNY 799 while the 32GB variant bears a price tag of CNY 999. The company is offering the smartphone in four color options- Champagne Gold, Moonlight silver, Star Grey, and Rose Gold.
It sports 5.2-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display with a pixel density of 282 ppi and sports a meta unibody design. It is powered by 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 SoC paired with 3GB LPDDR3 RAM. It’s storage i.e. 16GB or 32GB, can be expanded further up to 128GB via microSD card.
The smartphone features 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF (phase detection auto focus), and dual-tone flash. It also bears 5MP front facing camera for selfies with f/2.0 aperture and ArcSoft beautification. The device runs company’s UI named Flyne v6.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
It’s a dual SIM(Nano SIM) smartphone that comes with Hybrid configuration and packs 3000mAh battery. It also sports a fingerprint sensor in its home button paired with mTouch technology to unlock the smartphone in less than 0.2 seconds. The device comes bundled with 18w fast charger. The smartphone packs standard connectivity options- WiFi 802.11 a/g/b/n, Bluetooth, v4.0, micro USB, GPS, and 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors on board Meizu M5s include- magnetometer, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, and infrared sensor.
