Kodak Ektra smartphone launched in India alongside Kodak TV Speaker

Kodak has launched its camera-focused smartphone “Kodak Ektra” in India alongside TV Speaker, both available exclusively via Flipkart. The smartphone is available at a special price of Rs. 19,990 while the Kodak TV Speaker 68M has been priced at Rs. 3,290. The smartphone is already available in the United States and Europe.

Starting with its specifications, the Kodak Ektra sports 5-inch FHD (1920×1080 pixels) display and is powered by 2.3GHz MediaTek MT6797 Helio X20 deca-core SoC paired with 3GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded further up to 128GB via microSD card.

Kodak Ektra is a photography-focussed smartphone having a 21MP rear camera with an aperture ratio of f/2.0, OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus), HDR, Face Detection, dual LED flash and supports 4K recording. On the other hand, it features a 13MP front facing camera with PDAF and f/2.2 aperture. With ARCSOFT Low-Light Shot tech, the smartphone can capture high-quality low light images by reducing the ISO noise, enhancing shutter speed, and maximizing the light that reaches the camera. 




The camera app features DSLR-like Scene Selection Dial which let users change photographic settings in real time. Using the dial, you can switch between a range of settings including HDR, Portrait, Landscape, Night-time, Macro, Panorama and Bokeh, Film/ Video, and Sport. It also comes with Smart Auto mode which auto-selects the best conditions for your photographs. There is also a manual mode for advanced users allowing them to adjust ISO, exposure, white balance, focus, and shutter speed in real time.

Google Snapseed comes pre-installed with Kodak Ektra which provide users advanced tools to edit images on-the-go. Social media sharing and Prints app also come integrated with the camera app for quick sharing and printing.

It’s a single SIM (Nano) smartphone that comes packed with 3000mAh battery and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It also packs standard connectivity options such as Bluetooth v4.1, 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS/ GLONASS, USB 3.0 Type-C, and 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors on Kodak Ektra include ambient light, proximity, accelerometer, magnetometer, and gyroscope. It does not have a fingerprint sensor on board.

Alongside the smartphone, the company also unveiled Bluetooth enabled Kodak TV Speaker. In terms of specifications, it features Bluetooth v4.0 + EDR connectivity with a range of up to 10 meters. It has a battery life of over 5 hours and comes with auto pairing function, A2DP, and carrying strap. It has a micro-USB port for charging, 3.5mm audio jack (In), and 3.5mm audio jack (Out). The home audio speaker from Kodak is now available on Flipkart at a price of Rs. 3,290.
