Silambarasan’s Action-Packed ‘Pathu Thala’ to Premiere on Prime Video on April 27!

The streaming platform announced that it would release the crime-noir thriller ‘Pathu Thala’ featuring Silambarasan and Gautham Karthik on April 27. Directed by Obeli N Krishna, the movie is a Tamil adaptation of the popular Kannada film ‘Mufti’. The plot revolves around the investigation into the vanishing of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, with music composed by the renowned A R Rahman.

According to the official plotline of the film, which premiered in theatres on March 30, the movie follows the story of Shakthivel (played by Karthik), a dedicated police officer assigned to locate the missing Chief Minister and investigate the case. His investigation leads him to AG Raavanan (played by Silambarasan), a notorious gangster with a stronghold in the sand-mining industry, making him untouchable.

In a bid to crack the case, Shakthivel goes undercover and gradually gains AGR’s trust. However, the revelations that he uncovers along the way shake his determination and make him question his beliefs.

Notably, the film also stars Priya Bhavani Shankar and Gautham Vasudev Menon in significant roles. Director Obeli N Krishna mentioned that despite being an adaptation of another movie, ‘Pathu Thala’ has a distinct identity. He added that the two lead actors, Silambarasan TR and Gautham Karthik, have delivered outstanding performances, making his job as a filmmaker easier.

Krishna further stated that the movie’s captivating storyline combined with complex characterizations will keep the audience engrossed till the very end. The movie’s music is composed by the renowned musician, A R Rahman.

The filmmaker highlighted that the characters in ‘Pathu Thala’ are similar to Ravana, possessing both good and bad traits, making them even more intriguing to the viewers.

He expressed excitement for the movie to reach a wider audience and for them to enjoy the compelling performances when it releases on Prime Video India. The movie is produced by Jayantilal Gada and K E Gnanavel Raja.
