Now Use Messenger Without Having A Facebook Account

You can now use Messenger even if you don’t have a Facebook account. Just like WhatsApp, you can now sign-up to start using Messenger by just entering your first name, last name and your phone number. This new feature will engage people who wanted to use Messenger but never wanted to join Facebook.

The service has been started today in US, Peru, Canada and Venezuela. The feature will soon hit other countries. The aim of David Marcus (Head Of Messenger) is to get the last few people who want to use Messenger who potentially did not want to use Facebook or couldn’t use Facebook.

People can upload their phone contacts during sign-up. Facebook will then match your added contacts to the registered Messenger users having the same phone number. People will also be able to find the users whom they want to chat with by using a Facebook search function who might have not given Facebook their phone number.
