iPhone 7 & iPhone 7 Plus Launched: Specs, Price & More

Apple launched the most awaited iPhones, iPhone 7 & iPhone 7 Plus at an event in San Francisco. It’s the best selling product of its kind, sold over 1 billion around the world. Both the iPhone features iOS 10, world’s most advanced mobile operating system. iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will exclusively be available in Black, Jet Black, Gold, Silver, and Rose Gold colors.

Talking about the design, it’s insanely shiny featuring high glass finish. It defuses light which makes it look cool and awesome. It comes with stainless steel logo. iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus features new home button and is water and dust resistant. The new iPhones meet the IP67 protection standard and makes it highly durable.

The Home button is re-engineered and re-designed which features Apple’s Taptic Engine for Taptic feedback. The home button can be used to do multitasking, to evoke Siri, to access Touch ID, and to use Apple pay. With new iOS 10, you can now book a ride or make a reservation by just talking to Siri.

Let’s talk about the camera, the new iPhones will have optical image stabilization which allows up to 3x longer exposure. iPhone 7 features six-element lense, 12MP sensor that is 60 percent more faster with 4-LED true tone flash to provide 50 percent more light, and larger f/1.8 aperture. It also sports flicker sensor. iPhone 7 will also have 7MP front camera. The camera also sports new Apple designed image signal processor which allows auto-exposure, white balance, and noise reduction. It also combines multiple photos. One thing you will never get to know is that, the ISP does over 100 billion operation in just 25 milliseconds. While iPhone 7 Plus sports two 12MP dual rear cameras, one is Wide-angle lens and the other one called Telephoto which allows 2x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom. Now you can take low light pictures with the new iPhones. Apple claimed that iPhone 7 camera is the best camera in comparison to any other smartphone.

Both the iPhones comes with Retina HD Display with wide color gamut and is 25 percent brighter. iPhone 7 features 4.7-inch display while iPhone 7 plus sports 5.5-inch display. The new iPhones features Stereo Speaker System, one is at the bottom and other at the top and is 2x louder than 6s. Now EarPods connects over lightning with lightning connector.

 Apple has also introduced AirPods to make wireless connection with the device. It sports Apple-designed W1 chip which makes the AirPods smarter. You just have to take your AirPods out and they are ready to use as they connect instantly. You also can speak into them to talk to Siri. After one-tap, Airpods are simply on, and on two-tap, it evokes Siri and you can speak into them. These AirPods can sense when they are in your ears and simply pause when you take them out. You can make call, search for location, access your playlist and even turn up the volume using the AirPods.

Now the most important thing is Performance. The new iPhones comes with Apple’s latest A10 Fusion chip which features four-core CPU, two high-performance CPU cores, each 40 percent faster than A9, and two high-efficiency core that run at 1/5th the power and hence saves the battery. A new performance controller determines which apps run on which core. It also increases the Graphics performance by 50 percent in comparison to A9 and 3x in comparison to A8. It is the most powerful chip ever in a smartphone.

In terms of battery, iPhone 7 lasts two hours more than iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 Plus lasts one hour in comparison to iPhone 6 Plus.

Both the iPhones comes with 32GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage optons. While on other hand iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus storage has also been increased from 32GB to 64GB and from 64GB to 128GB without increasing the price. iPhone 7 price range starts from $649 while iPhone 7 Plus starts from $769. AirPods is priced at $159 and will go on sale in late October.

Pre-orders for iPhones begins September 9 and will start shipping from September 16 in select countries. Within a month, more countries will be included. iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be available in India from October 7.
