Android 7.1 Nougat based CyanogenMod 14.1 Nightly Builds Released For Select Devices

CyanogenMod is a smartphone OS based on Android but taking a slightly different direction to the one Google goes in. First and foremost, it gives you even more flexibility and customization options for your smartphone, as well as reducing app bloat. As for now, CyanogenMod has announced that a nightly build of CM14.1 based on Android 7.1 Nougat, latest Android version has been rolled out for select devices.

Devices which will get Nightly Build update include- Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Xiaomi Mi 3, Xiaomi Mi 4, LG G3, LG G4, Samsung Galaxy S5, Oneplus 3, Moto G variants, and Zenfone 2 users. A nightly build is usually not a stable build and have several bugs, but still released to all users.




“Bug reports are OK, but please don’t file bugs of missing features since this is all a work in progress. Now is a great time to get involved with the project too- CM is returning to its community- driven roots and there are endless ways to help out. As always, more devices will be added to the list over the coming weeks and maintainers bring everything up to date, so if you don’t see your device listed here just give us a bit of time,” stated Steve Kondik, Founder, in an article.

The CM team created an app called CyanogenMod Installer that lets you download and flash the ROM with minimal technical Knowledge, be sure to backup your data before you flash any custom ROM.
