Govt Unveils 14444 Digital Payment Helpline for Addressing all Queries on Digital Payment

Nasscom, telecom operators, and NITI Aayog collaborated to create this dedicated helpline which will address the issues of digital transactions. The helpline number would be made operational soon.

After the fourth meeting of the Committee of Chief Ministers on Digital payments, Convener and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said, plans are afoot to import one million PoS machines to enable cashless payments across India.

“IT industry body Nasscom, telephone operators and the government think tank are creating the helpline to address all queries of public regarding digital payments,” NITI Aayog Vice Chairman, Arvind Panagariya said.

Briefing the media on the discussions, Chandrababu Naidu also said the committee of Chief Ministers will present its interim reports on digital payments movements to Prime Minister Narendra Modi within a week.




“We are planning a sustainable, long-term, policy to attract majority in India to move to digital payments through providing incentives,” said Chandrababu Naidu.

When asked about the incentives for card payments, which is going to expire on December 31st, Chandrababu Naidu says that the subsidy for smartphones and incentives to users are being contemplated to promote the digital transactions across India.

“Our focus is on providing more incentives for making digital payments a mass movement,” Naidu said, adding “things are moving very positively on a digital economy for India.”

Naidu also said the Committee would recommend continuation of the incentives beyond December 31st.
