LeEco & Coolpad Jointly Launched Cool S1 Smartphone With 6GB RAM

LeEco and Coolpad jointly launched their third smartphone called Cool S1 in China. They have launched two more smartphones this year- Cool1 Dual in August and Cool Changer 1C in November. It’s the third addition to their Cool smartphone series. The two companies are making high-end smartphones available at cheaper rates. The Cool S1 smartphone comes in three variants- 4GB RAM with 32GB storage, 6GB RAM with 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage.

The new smartphone sports 5.5-inch FHD (1080×1920 pixels) display with metal body. Its design looks similar to LeEco Le Pro 3 and features features two front-facing speakers with Harman’s Clari-Fi audio enhancing technology. Cool S1 comes with USB Type-C headset by ditching 3.5mm audio jack, just like Apple.

In terms of performance, the smartphone is powered by 2.35GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC paired with 4GB/6GB od RAM. It offers three storage options, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. It’s up to you to select the model according to the needs. The storage can’t be expanded further as the smartphone doesn’t offer any memory card slot.




Talking about its camera features, Cool S1 features 13MP rear camera with 4K recording support, PDAF (phase detection auto-focus), and Dual-LED flash. On the other hand, it sports 8MP front facing camera for selfies.

The smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow based LeEco’s EUI v5.8 and packs a large 4070mAh non-removable battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology. It’s a dual-SIM smartphone and supports 4G LTE connectivity. Other Connectivity option includes- Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.1, OTG, FM Radio, GPS, and USB Type-C. Sensors on board include- proximity sensor, accelerometer, and fingerprint sensor embedded below rear camera.

The 4GB/ 32GB variant comes at a price of CNY 2,499 (approx Rs. 24632 OR $359) while 6GB/ 64GB variant has been priced at CNY 2,699 (approx Rs. 26312 OR $387). On the other hand, Cool S1’s top model will cost you CNY 3,199 (approx Rs. 31,186 OR $459). The smartphone is only available to buy in China. The companies have not confirmed its global availability.
