Huawei Launched 2017 Version Of Its P8 Lite Smartphone

Huawei has launched a 2017 version of its P8 Lite smartphone that was launched back in May 2015. Year later, the company added another smartphone to its P Series called P9 Lite and now it’s back with a new version of P8 Lite smartphone called P8 Lite (2017). It will be available by the end of January initially in German smartphone market only Black color option at a price of EUR 239 (approx $254 OR Rs. 17,345), however, the company has promised a single SIM variant of the smartphone and addition of two more colors, Gold & White, in coming weeks.

P8 Lite (2017) sports larger 5.2-inch FHD (1080×1920 pixels) display. It is powered by company’s own octa-core Kirin 655 SoC coupled with 3GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded further up to 128GB via microSD card.

The smartphone features 12MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash. On the other hand, it has 8MP front facing camera for selfies. The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and sports a fingerprint sensor on the rear side of the phone.

It’s a dual SIM smartphone and is packed with 3000mAh battery. As said earlier, the company will also make the single SIM variant available in coming weeks. In terms of connectivity, it supports LTE network, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS and NFC. Sensors on board P8 Lite (2017) include- proximity, accelerometer, and ambient light sensor alongside fingerprint.

The company may soon launch P10 Lite, another addition to company’s P series. In comparison to existing P8 Lite smartphone, the 2017 version has got a lot of upgrades in terms of memory, camera, RAM, or processor, however, on comparing it with P9 Lite, the smartphone has negligible upgrades which maybe the reason behind calling it P8 Lite’s upgrade and not P9 Lite. It has also been priced much lesser than what P9 Lite was.
