YouTubers can now go live using their smartphones; A new way to earn extra

YouTubers can now live stream their creativity using their smartphone anywhere, anytime. You heard it right, YouTube has introduced mobile live streaming feature which allows content creators having more than 10,000 subscribers to go live and interact with their fans while making some extra revenue.

YouTube has also launched a new feature called “Super Chat” which allows YouTubers to make some extra money from live streaming. Not only YouTubers, viewers will also get benefited with this feature as they can stand out of the crowd and chat with their favorite YouTuber. To do so, viewers will have to purchase chat messages to make them highlighted in bright colors and pinned at the top of chat box.

This way, Super Chat allows YouTubers to stay connected to their genuine fans while making some extra revenue. The feature is available for creators in more than 20 countries worldwide including India.

To live stream, you just have to open the app and hit the capture button, that’s it. Just like regular videos, streamed videos “can be searched for, found via recommendations or playlists, and protected from unauthorized use.”

“Our mobile live streaming uses YouTube’s rock-solid infrastructure, meaning it’ll be fast and reliable, just the YouTube you know and love,” stated YouTube.

YouTube allowed users to go live using their computers since 2011 but the live streaming feature remained exclusive to computers only. Since then, Google-owned YouTube helped live stream lots of great events including the 2016 U.S. Presidential debates which was also the most viewed political live steam ever. Now, creators can showcase their talents live using their handsets and can earn little extra money.

“It’s a launch that’ll put the power of live streaming in the hands of hundreds of thousands of talented creators, giving them a more intimate and spontaneous way to share their thoughts, lives, and creativity,” said YouTube Product Managers in a blog post.
