Paytm Cancellation Protect feature has been introduced which lets you cancel movie ticket/s at a nominal charge. You can now book movie tickets without worrying about the last minute plan changes. But that last minute should be 3 hours prior to the movie timing, else otherwise there won’t be any refund.
Paytm is not the first, BookMyShow also introduced “Reserve Ticket” feature allowing users to reserve their seats if there plan is doubtful without making the payment. However, this feature is limited to number of cinemas in select cities. Paytm cancellation protect feature is much different than BookMyShow’s as you have to make the full payment before reserving your seats.
Booking movie tickets has now become more convenient with the newly introduced feature. To assure your refund, you have to select “Cancellation Protect” checkbox during checkout and if there’s a change in plan, you can cancel it 3 hours before the movie starts. There won’t be any refund for you if the cancellation process doesn’t meet the requirements.
It will cost you Rs. 9 extra per ticket which will be included in the total booking amount. And if you cancel the booking, you can have full refund of your money in the form of Paytm cashback which will be credited in your Paytm wallet. You can’t cancel a single ticket if you have booked multiple, either cancel the whole order or find a replacement for that ticket.
You will get a booking confirmation on booking ticket/s with cancellation protect. This confirmation sent to you via SMS/ mail is not a ticket and you can’t enter the cinema with it. It’s just a confirmation for the booking you have made. Paytm will send you the actual ticket after the cancellation period is over.
The Cancellation Protect feature is being rolled out across the country in select cinemas and will be limited to number of seats per screening. If you are unable to see the Cancellation Protect checkbox at the checkout page then, it could be due to unavailability of the feature for that cinema in your city or the seats reserved for this purpose per screening are outnumbered.
