Meizu M6s is powered by Samsung Exynos 7872 SoC

Chinese consumer electronics company Meizu has launched a new smartphone called Meizu M6s (Charm Blue S6) that packs 14nm Samsung Exynos 7872 SoC. The smartphone is the first to use Samsung’s Exynos 7872 processor, claims company. It has been launched in China for now with no words on its availability in other global markets.

The smartphone comes in two variants- 3GB/ 32GB and 3GB/ 64GB priced at CNY 999 (approx $155 or Rs. 9,900) and CNY 1,199 (approx $185 or Rs. 11,890) respectively. It is up for registrations and will go on sale starting January 19 via Lynx, Suning, and Jingdong in Champagne Gold, Matte Black, Moon Silver, and Cobalt Blue color options. It will also be made available via Meizu’s official online store from January 20. You can also buy it offline by visiting authorized retail outlets sometime later.

Coming to the specifications, Meizu M6s sports 5.7-inch HD+ (1440×720 pixels) 18:9 full in-cell display with 2.5D curved glass on top. The smartphone sports metal unibody with thin bezels at top and bottom and the screen produces 450 nits brightness and 1000:1 contrast ratio. The device features mTouch fingerprint sensor placed on the power button located on the right side.


Meizu M6s is powered by a Samsung Exynos 7972 hexa-core (two Cortex-A73 cores at 2.0GHz and four Cortec-A73 cores at 1.6GHz) 7872 SoC that supports 16 network frequencies and comes paired with 1.2GHz Mali-G7 GPU. The smartphone packs 3GB of RAM and comes in two storage options (mentioned above) which can be expanded further up to 128GB via MicroSD card.

It features 16MP rear Samsung CMOS sensor with f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens, and LED flash. On the front side, the smartphone sports 8MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and has been paired with facial enhancement technology. Meizu has integrated ArcSoft Image Optimization algorithms which edits face’s complexion and shape in real-time.

Charm Blue S6 aka Meizu M6s runs Flyme OS 6.0 based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat which features re-invented navigation bar that supports multiple single-hand gestures and customizable navigation colors. The device also sports Super mBack interface with a Halo button that lets you navigate through the smartphone. You can tap on Halo to return back a screen, press it to return home, long press to turn off the screen, slide-up for multi-tasking, and it also lets you easily switch between apps.

It’s a dual-SIM smartphone that comes packed with 3000mAh battery rated to deliver 9.5 hours of video playback and supports 18W mCharge fast charging technology which charges the device from 0 to 52% in just 30 minutes, claims Meizu. Connectivity options onboard Meizu M6s include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/A-GPS, Micro USB port, and 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors on the smartphone include proximity, accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light, and magnetometer.
