Honor 7A features 18:9 display and is budget-friendly

Huawei-owned Honor has launched the successor to its budget smartphone Honor 6A called Honor 7A in its home market, China. The smartphone is now available to buy in the country via Huawei Mall, Tmall, and JD.com in Aurora Blue, Black, and Platinum Gold color options.

Like Honor 6A, the smartphone comes in two storage configurations- 2GB/ 32GB and 3GB/ 32GB priced at CNY 799 (approx Rs. 8,300 or $127) and CNY 999 (approx Rs. 10,370 or $159). The only difference is the inbuilt storage which is set to a minimum of 32GB. It also packs the same processor as in Honor 6A, read on to learn more.

Honor 7A sports 5.7-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) IPS LCD display with 18:9 aspect ratio and on top, there is 2.5D curved glass. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core (4 Cortex-A53 at 1.5GHz & 4 Cortex A53 at 1.2GHz) SoC paired with Adreno 505 GPU and your choice of RAM i.e. 2GB/3GB. It comes with 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded further up to 256GB via MicroSD card which goes into a dedicated slot.

Honor 7A 3GB RAM variant features dual rear camera setup consisting of a 13MP primary CMOS sensor plus 2MP secondary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and comes paired with LED flash. Rear cameras features include autofocus, face/smile detection, panorama, HDR, AI-based beautification algorithm, and bokeh effect. On the front side, the smartphone features 8MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and soft selfie light (LED flash) for better low-light photography.

The smartphone runs Android 8.0 Oreo-based EMUI 8.0 and packs a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel. It packs features like eye protection mode and a split-screen mode that allow users to split the screen into two so that you could chat with your friends while watching YouTube videos.

It’s a dual-SIM (Nano) smartphone that comes packed with 3000mAh non-removable battery. Connectivity options onboard Huawei Honor 7A include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, FM Radio, GPS/ A-GPS/ GLONASS/ Beidou, MicroUSB 2.0 port, and 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors on the smartphone include proximity, accelerometer, and magnetometer.
