Actors Guild Defends Alec Baldwin Over Manslaughter Charges

Alec Baldwin faces criminal charges over the involuntary manslaughter of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the sets of Rust. Baldwin has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing and maintained that he was told the gun was “cold”. Meanwhile, fellow Hollywood actors have defended him.

Alec Baldwin is one of the three caste and crew members facing criminal charges over the accidental shooting, said Mexican Prosecutors.

A fellow actor Joy Behar said, “the actor was criminally charged over the death of the cinematographer because of his liberal politics.”

Joy Behar was unsure whether Baldwin deserved to be charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and claimed that the person who indicted him is a “big Republican.”

According to Behar, “The DA who indicted Baldwin is a big Republican and I’m only saying this because Baldwin is a target for Republicans, they just cannot stand him, Ok? I’m just saying”.

However, David Hall, the first Assistant Director on the sets of Rust, has agreed to plead guilty to negligent use of a deadly weapon.

As per the reports, Baldwin will still serve as the film’s lead and Joel Souza, who was wounded in the shooting, will return as director.
