According to sources Apple informed its suppliers that it has cancelled all plans to launch the iPhone SE 4 this year.
An analyst named Ming-Chi Kuo predicted months ago that Apple might cancel or at least delay the launch of its upcoming fourth-gen iPhone SE to 2024. Turns out, he’s right, Apple has cancelled all plans to launch iPhone SE this year.
Ming-Chi Kuo wrote in a medium post on Friday, that “Apple initially planned to launch its first in-house 5G baseband chip in 2024 and let the low-end iPhone SE adopt it first. Then, based on the development status of the iPhone SE 4, the company was to decide whether to let the iPhone 16 use the same chip.”
Qualcomm being the exclusive baseband chip supplier for the iPhone 14’s line-up will continue to provide chips for the upcoming iPhone this year, sources.
