OLA Expands Share Service to 3 New Cities; Also Slashed Fares

Ola expanded its so called Share service to three more cities and also slashed its Share fares across seven cities by up to 45 percent. The fares has been reduced to around Rs.3 per km.

Previously the Share service was available in 7 cities – Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Pune. And now three more cities have been added to the list, taking the total number to 10 cities.

The three newly added cities include Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, and Jaipur. The revised Share fares has been applied to all the 10 cities.




“Shared mobility is one of the key focus areas for Ola as it enables far reaching benefits like reduced pollution and congestion-free roads. We are constantly working to upgrade this experience for users as well as the driver-partners,” stated Ola CMO and Head of Categories, Raghuvesh Sarup.

“Optimizing same route sharing has ensured that a majority of Ola rides are fully occupied and on-route deviation time is minimal. This also helped Ola Share in becoming the most eco-friendly and pocket friendly ride,” added Raghuvesh Sarup.

“With immense demand for the service and improved matching rate, we have been able to bring down fares to as low as Rs. 3 per km,” he also added.

According to Ola, the Share service has helped the company in saving 20-lakh litres of petrol. The company also stated that the service also helped in reducing the pollution.
