HTC U Ultra Launched With Dual Screen & Integrated AI

HTC has launched two new smartphone in it all new U series called U Ultra and U Play. Biggest common highlight of the smartphones is the AI (Artificial Intelligence) called HTC Sense Companion which will track down your daily patterns and recommends you stuff accordingly. U Ultra has also got a secondary screen which will show quick notifications and recommendations by the Sense Companion. You can also set shortcuts to the apps you use most on the second screen.

Both U Ultra and U Play features HTC Sense Companion, an AI that learns from the user. The more you use the phone, the more it learns. It provides recommendations according to your daily behaviour and also warns you to not to leave the house when there’s rain outside. It also tells you to wear warm clothes if there’s cold outside or leave for work earlier on snowy days. It also tells you how much you need to charge the phone to last all day depending on your regular use. It tells and do a lot of stuff.

The U Ultra smartphone sports 5.7-inch Super LCD QHD (1440×2560 pixels) primary display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection and a 2-inch secondary display, just above the primary display, with a resolution of 1040×160 pixels and sapphire glass protection. It is powered by a 2.15GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the smartphone comes in two storage variants- 64GB & 128GB. The internal storage can also be expanded further up to 2TB via microSD card.




In terms of camera, U Ultra features a 12-UltraPixel rear camera with a BSI sensor, laser + PDAF (phase detection auto focus), optical image stabilisation (OIS), 1.55-micron pixels, an f/2.8 aperture, and dual-tone LED flash. On the other hand it has a 16MP front facing camera with a BSI sensor and an UltraPixel mode. It also features HTC USonic, a technology that analyse the shape of user’s inner ears with a “sonar-like pulse” to adapt to you. It runs on company Sense UI based on Android 7.0 Nougat.

U Ultra will be available in single SIM and dual SIM (Nano SIM) variants, depending on the country. Connectivity options on board U Ultra include- 4G LTE/ VoLTE, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, DLNA, Miracast, HTC Connect, NFC and USB 3.1 Type-C. It comes with proximity, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, and accelerometer sensors. It also features a fingerprint sensor embedded in its home button. The smartphone adds support for Hi-Res audio, 3D audio recording and sports HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi edition stereo speakers. The smartphone is packed with 3000mAh battery and Quick Charge 3.0 support. It is capable of delivering up to 13 days of standby time, claims company.

However, the company haven’t revealed any details on its pricing yet. The company is planning to launch the devices in India in March. Both the smartphones will be available in Sapphire Blue, Brilliant Blue, Ice White, and Cosmetic Pink.
