Vivo V5s launched with 20MP front camera; Full Specifications

Vivo has launched its selfie focused smartphone called “V5s” at an event held in Gurugram (Gurgaon). It has been priced at Rs. 18,990 and will be available in Matte Black and Crown Gold colors. The smartphone is up for pre-orders. You can buy V5s on May 6 when it will go live on Flipkart for its first sale.

In terms of specifications, the smartphone sports 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D Curved Glass and comes with Corning Gorilla glass protection. It is powered by 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM. It comes with 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded further up to 256GB via microSD card.

Vivo V5s features 13MP rear camera with PDAF (phase detection auto focus) and dual LED flash. Th highlight of the smartphone is its 20MP front facing selfie focused camera that comes with Moonlight Glow light, Face Beauty mode 6.0 and an f/2.2 aperture. The device runs Funtouch OS 3.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and sports fingerprint sensor embedded in its home button.




It’s a dual SIM (Micro + Nano) hybrid smartphone that comes packed with 3000mAh battery and supports 4G VoLTE connectivity. Other connectivity options on board Vivo V5s include WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.0, FM Radio, GPS/ A-GPS, micro USB port, and 3.5mm audio jack. It also packs sensors other than fingerprint such as proximity, accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, and ambient light.

Other features include Eye protection mode which filters out Blue light from the device’s screen to protect your eyes and Smart Split 2.0 which splits the screen into two allowing you to chat while watching video. Smart Split 2.0 currently supports video streaming, Facebook, messages, WeChat, Whatsapp, YouTube, videos, movie streaming, VLC for Android devices, and MX player. The company is calling V5s a ‘camera and music’ smartphone as it also packs AK4376 Hi-Fi audio chip which delivers unparalleled sound quality, with a signal-to-noise ratio of up to 115 dB.
