IFA: Moto X4 comes integrated with Amazon Alexa

Lenovo has launched Moto X4 at this year’s IFA trade show that supports both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice assistants. It has been priced at EUR 399 (approx $470 OR Rs. 30,000) and will be made available in Europe initially in the month of September, while other regions can expect it very soon. As of now, Moto X4 only comes in 3GB/ 32GB memory configuration, however, the company may later launch its 4GB/ 64GB memory configuration variant.

Moto X4 sports metal unibody with 5.2-inch FHD (1080X1920 pixels) LTPS IPS display featuring 442ppi  pixel density and comes protected with Corning Gorilla Glass. In terms of performance, it packs 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 octa-core Cortex-A53 SoC paired with 650MHz Adreno 508 GPU and 3GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded further up to 2TB via microSD card.

The smartphone features dual rear cameras, one 12MP (1.4-micron pixels) dual autofocus sensor with f/2.0 aperture and one 8MP (1.12-micron pixels) 120-degree wide angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, with dual tone LED flash, PDAF (phase detection autofocus), and auto-HDR. Other rear cameras features include that you can adjust via camera interface- panorama, face detection, ultra-wide angle shot, professional mode, selective focus, object recognition, slo-motion video, background replacement, and much more. The device also packs 16MP (1.0-micron pixels) ultra-low light selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, selfie panorama, beautification mode, face filters, professional mode, and LED flash.


Moto X4 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat, however, it will be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo soon and sports fingerprint sensor placed underneath the home button. As mentioned earlier, the smartphone supports both AI-powered voice assistants Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Using the voice assistant, you can ask questions or get any of the supported job done such as making calls, sending text messages, setting up alarm, web searching, and a lot more without even touching your smartphone.

It’s single SIM (Nano) or dual SIM (Nano) smartphone (depending on regions) that comes packed with 3000mAh non-removable battery claimed to last all day and supports fast charging. The smartphone can fuel up 6 hours of battery in just 15 minutes with 15W TurboPower charging adapter. It is also IP68 rated making it water and dust resistant.

Moto X4 packs front-ported speaker and 3 microphones and packs moto experiences such as moto display, moto voice, moto actions, moto guard, wireless sound system, moto key (password manager), three-finger screenshot gesture, and one-button navigation. Connectivity options on board new Motorola smartphone include- 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, GPS/ GLONASS, USB Type-CTM port, and 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors on the smartphone include proximity, accelerometer, gravity, ambient light, sensor hub, gyroscope, and magnetometer. It comes in two color options- Super Black and Sterling Blue.
