LG 4K UHD projector lineup showcased at CES 2018

LG has announced its 4K UHD projector series HU80K showcased at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2018). The size of LG’s new 4K UHD projector is half the size of its rivals, supports HDR videos, and can project 150-inch display. The company has also announced the latest version of its portable MiniBeam projector (PF50K) featuring FHD resolution and webOS 3.5.

Existing 4K projectors are heavy, expensive and cumbersome to install in the home, says the South Korean company adding that the engineers at LG have downsized the projector to half without sacrificing image quality and also maintaining the “premium device” image while still being easier on the wallet.

The all-new projector from LG possesses beautiful, compact design and produces an ultra-sharp video to deliver a home cinema experience. It projects 150-inch screen at 2,500 lumens making the projector brightest ever created by the company. Apart from 4K UHD resolution, the projector also supports HDR (HDR10) content available to stream on different platforms to produce best-ever cinematic experience anywhere in the home.

“The projector’s portable size and unique upright design are only made possible by the mirrorless I-shaped engine which allows the projector to show perfect images whether it’s placed on the floor, mounted on the wall or hanging from the ceiling,” explains the company.

The projector packs two 7 watt speakers that deliver the true cinematic audio experience and doesn’t need any external sound system. It also comes with webOS 3.5 smart TV interface through which users can access unlimited 4K HDR content available to stream on popular streaming services such as Netflix.

Connectivity options on board the LG 4K UHD projector include USB port, Ethernet, HDMI, and wireless support for external devices such as keyboard and mouse. The company yet not revealed any pricing and availability details for its 2018 4K UHD projector lineup, however, you can expect it to hit stores soon.
