Samsung Galaxy A8+ comes with dual selfie cameras, view specifications

Samsung has launched its high-end smartphone in India called Samsung Galaxy A8+ (Plus) at an event in New Delhi. The smartphone has already been launched alongside Samsung Galaxy A8 in other markets in December last year. It will be made available in the country from January 20th.

It’s an Amazon exclusive smartphone that comes with a price tag of Rs. 32,990  and will go on sale starting January 20, 2018. The company is offering Galaxy A8+ in two color options- Gold and Black. Amazon has not yet listed any launch offers.

Coming to the specifications, the smartphone sports 6-inch FHD+ (1080×2220 pixels) Super AMOLED display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio and rated IP68 for water and dust resistance. It is powered by company’s Exynos 7885 octa-core (2 cores @ 2.2GHz and remaining 6 cores @ 1.6GHz) SoC paired with Mali-G71 GPU and 6GBof RAM. The device comes with 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded further up to 256GB via MicroSD card.

Samsung Galaxy A8+ features 16MP rear camera with PDAF (phase detection autofocus), f/1.7 aperture, and LED flash. The camera comes paired with video digital image stabilization (VDis) technology and hyperlapse feature that lets you create time-lapse videos. On the front side, the smartphone sports dual camera setup consisting of one 16MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture and one 8MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture.

You can switch between cameras to capture portrait shots with a clear and crisp background or blurred background. The Live Focus feature on the camera allows you to adjust bokeh effect before or after capturing self-portraits. It is also capable of capturing sharp images even in low-light conditions and is packed with features like Food Mode and Beauty Mode.

It’s a dual-SIM smartphone that comes packed with 3500mAh battery and supports fast charging. Samsung Galaxy A8+ runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and sports fingerprint sensor below the rear camera module. It also supports Samsung’s voice assistant Bixby and Samsung Pay. Connectivity options on the smartphone include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS, ANT+, NFC, and USB Type-C port. Sensors on board Galaxy A8+ include proximity, accelerometer, ambient light, magnetometer, gyroscope, barometer, and hall sensor.
