Xiaomi Unveils MIUI 14: Eligible Devices, Release Date, and More

Xiaomi has recently launched the flagship Xiaomi 13 series, just as the series went official we got the announcement of MIUI 14 the latest Android 13-based interface for Xiaomi devices.

The latest version of MIUI has been introduced in China, and the first wave of Xiaomi devices will start receiving updates in January 2023.

Xiaomi claims MIUI 14 runs 60% smoother compared to its predecessor Xiaomi 12S Ultra. The company says this is the most optimized and streamlined MIUI to date and it starts with Project Razor.

MIUI 14 developers updated the system architecture on the Android Kernel level with CPU, GPU, and memory resource scheduling, lighter system firmware size, and decreased memory usage.

Xiaomi is reaffirming its pledge to allow users to delete MIUI system utilities, and in MIUI 14, there are just eight apps that cannot be uninstalled: Settings, Phone, Mi App Store, Browser, Contacts, Camera, Files, and Messages.

The UI will include new widgets, 4 different app icon sizes, customizable folders, and animated cat/dog avatars on the home screen. Users will also get real-time subtitles during video calls.

The new version of Xiaomi’s skin also introduces the new Xiaomi AI Assistant 6.0 for multifunctional reminders, shortcuts to payment codes and transportation codes, and more. Furthermore, MIUI 14 includes faster and better Wi-Fi connectivity, family cloud service, and health sharing, among other things.

Eligible Devices

MIUI 14 is already available for the Xiaomi 13 series and will be available to other devices in January 2023. Below is the list of the early release schedule for Xiaomi devices in China.
