Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke aka Daenerys Targaryen joins Star Wars Han Solo spin-off

British actress Emilia Clarke, famous for her role in Daenerys Targaryen in Television Fantasy “Game of Thrones”, will play a female lead role in upcoming yet-to-be titled Star Wars Han Solo spin-off movie which is set to be released in 2018. Alongside Emilia, the film also features Alden Ehrenreich, cast to play Han Solo and Donald Glover, who will play the role of Lando Calrissian.

Emilia Clarke is heading to a galaxy far, far away — and she’s going to meet Han and Chewie.

Star Wars Han Solo which is yet-to-be titled is an upcoming film in the Star Wars Anthology series, set for release in 2018. The film mainly focuses on young Han Solo and Lando Calrissian when they become space smugglers and “soundrels on the rise.”




The film will be set before the original Star Wars trilogy, later renamed as Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.

“Clarke’s role will round out a dynamic cast of characters that Han and Chewie will encounter on their adventures,” StarWars.com said.

The film will be produced by Lawrence Kasdan & Jason McGatlin and co-produced by Kathleen Kennedy & Will Allegra. The Star Wars upcoming movie will be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller who have directed movies like Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009), and The Lego Movie (2014). The film is written by Lawrence Kasdan and Jon Kasdan.
