Google has launched two new Google home speakers named Google Home Mini and Google Home Max at its hardware event held in San Francisco. Home Mini is the mini variant of Google Home while the Home Max is a larger variant of Google Home with 20 times more powerful sound than the existing one. Google also announced that Google Home is coming to Japan later this year including five more countries.

Google has also rolled out an update that lets its users make free calls to landline and mobile phone in the United States and Canada. Google will soon add the United Kingdom. The update also brings Voice Match feature allowing Google Home to recognize users by their voice in order to know who it is talking to. To learn more about it, visit here.

Google Home Mini sports simple, sleek design which makes it more accessible to more people. It comes wrapped with fabric that supports touch function. There are four LED lights embedded in the fabric and you tap on the fabric to activate Google Assistant and talk to it.


Google Home Mini can also be connected to any Chromecast enabled speakers to enhance the sound. It packs all the power of Google Assistant and has been priced at $49 (approx Rs. 3,000) in the United States. It is available to pre-order in all the Google Home countries – the United States, Australia, UK, Germany, Canada, and France in Coral, Chalk, and Charcoal color options. It will also be made available in the stores starting October 19.

Google Home Max, on the other hand, has been priced at $399 (approx Rs. 26,000) and will be available to buy in December in Chalk and Charcoal colors. Google is offering 12-months ad-free subscription to the YouTube Red which also includes YouTube Music.

It packs acoustically transparent fabric on the top, dual 4.5-inch high-excursion woofers, and custom 0.7-inch tweeters. It is like any other wireless speaker with powerful audio output with clear highs and deep bass. It comes integrated with Smart Sound feature that automatically adjusts the sound for the best acoustic performance. Suppose the dishwasher is on making lots of noise, with Smart Sound feature Google Home Max automatically raise the sound.

The Google Home speakers also pack an all-new Broadcast feature that lets user broadcast their message across all the Google Home speakers at the same time. Google Home now also supports Family Link account feature giving parents more control over what their children can access. Google has also added some new actions and “Routines” like turning on Coffee maker, light, and other smart home products. Google Home now works with over 1,000 smart home products including Nest products. You can also locate your phone if you have misplaced it even if it is on silent mode.

Google also launched Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, Google Pixel Buds, Google Clips, Google PixelBook, and upgraded Google Daydream View.
