Apple has launched a range of products at the iPhone launch event on September 12 hosted in the Steve Jobs Theater at its new Cupertino Headquarters. The list includes Apple Watch Series 3, Apple TV 4K, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and the iPhone X (iPhone Ten). To learn about these new products in detail, head over to our separate reports on Apple TV 4K, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X. In this article, we will be discussing Apple Watch Series 3.

Apple Watch Series 3 comes in two variants GPS and GPS+Cellular with price starting at $329 and $399 respectively. To be more specific on pricing details, the GPS-only 38mm aluminum case variant is priced at $329 while the 42m case size variant bears a price tag of $359. On the other hand, GPS+Cellular with 38mm aluminum case has been priced at $399 and the 42mm case size variant comes at a price tag of $429. There is also stainless steel case GPS+Cellular variant with price starting from $599. Head over to Apple’s website to check out the list of all the models sporting a variety of bands. In terms of availability, the smartwatch will be made available in the United States and other countries for pre-order on September 15 and will start shipping September 22.

Watch Series 3 will also be made available in India and several other countries from September 29 with a starting price of Rs. 29,900. Apple won’t launch the GPS+Cellular variant in India because of the eSIM card technology it carries is not yet supported by any of the telecom operators in India.

Apple Watch Series 3 is now a lot more independent and more powerful than Watch Series 2 because this time Apple has embedded cellular connectivity into its smart watch. Watch Series 3 supports LTE connectivity allowing you to surf the internet, call your friends and family, or send text messages without the need of your phone. CEO Tim Cook shared some stats revealing that Apple Watch Series took over Rolex, Fossil, and Omega to become the #1 watch in the world with 97 percent customer satisfaction rate.

The company also announced that the watchOS 4, announced back in July, will start rolling out to Apple Watch from September 19. watchOS 4 comes with advanced activity tracking algorithms, redesigned workout apps, added support for multiple workouts in a single session, and a lot more new features making the smart watch smarter and easier to use.

You can now leave your phone behind without any worries because, with Apple Watch Series 3, it’s like you have already got a phone right on your wrist. Make calls or answer them and send text messages anywhere, anytime or stream 40 million songs right from your wrist. It also comes integrated with Apple’s voice assistant Siri allowing you to interact with the smart watch using your voice and you already know what it can do. Swim freely in the swimming pool or in the ocean as the Watch Series 3 is completely swim-proof featuring water resistance rating of 50 meters, however, it is not suitable for scuba diving and waterskiing.

Apple has embedded an antenna and eSIM (electronic SIM) in the display itself and its phone number will be the same as the mobile phone number on the iPhone. Sound clarity is great and it also packs 70 percent faster dual-core processor and new W2 chip which improves battery life up to 18 hours. The all new Apple Watch Series 3 measures same as the Watch Series 2 and also looks same. The Watch sports Ion-X strengthened glass and Ceramic back while the GPS variant features composite back. Both variants packs, built-in GPS and GLONASS, Barometric altimeter, heart rate sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth v4.2. GPS variant has 8GB storage on board while the GPS+Cellular variant sports 16GB of storage capacity.
