Carl Pei-led UK startup, Nothing, is gearing up to unveil the Nothing Phone 2 on July 11 through a virtual event. As anticipation builds for the successor to the Nothing Phone 1, rumors regarding its features and specifications are surfacing online.
A recent French media report has shed light on the European pricing details of the Nothing Phone 1, as well as the RAM and storage configurations, and color options. It appears that the Nothing Phone 2 will be pricier than its predecessor due to an upgraded chipset.
The flagship device will be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and is expected to offer up to 12GB of RAM and a maximum of 512GB of storage.
According to the report from Dealabs, the Nothing Phone 2 will be priced at EUR 729 (approximately Rs. 65,600) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, and EUR 849 (approximately Rs. 76,500) for the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage model. The smartphone will reportedly be available in black and white color options.
This represents a significant increase in price compared to the Nothing Phone 1. The original smartphone was priced at EUR 469 for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant in European markets. The higher cost of the Nothing Phone 2 can be attributed to the chipset upgrade, as it will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, while the Nothing Phone 1 utilizes the Snapdragon 778G+ SoC.
The Nothing Phone 1 was initially launched in July last year with a price tag of Rs. 32,999 in India. The company later raised the price of the smartphone by Rs. 1,000.
The launch date for Nothing Phone 2 is set for July 11 and will be presented through a virtual event, which will be live-streamed via Nothing’s official channels. The upcoming device will be available for purchase in India through Flipkart, according to the company.
