Lenovo owned Motorola launches Moto X4 in India

Motorola has launched a new device for Indian smartphone market called Moto X4 which comes with a starting price of Rs.20,999. The smartphone is not new to the world, it has already been launched in the United States in September this year. It will be available to buy starting midnight today via Flipkart in Sterling Blue and Super Black color options.

The all-new Motorola device comes in two storage configurations – 3GB/ 32GB and 4GB/ 64GB – priced at Rs. 20,999 and 22,999 respectively. You can also buy the Flipkart-exclusive smartphone via Moto Hub retail stores located across the country. Moto X4 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat which will soon be upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo.

The device is rated IP68 for water and dust resistance. It also supports Amazon Alexa alongside Google Assistant but it’s not available currently. Launch offers include discount up to Rs. 2,500 when you exchange eligible smartphone and up to Rs. 3,000 on select Moto devices. Other offers include 10 percent discount on HDFC bank debit/ credit card, 5 percent when you pay using Axis Bank Buzz credit card, 50 percent buyback value, and No cost EMI schemes.


Moto X4 sports 5.2-inch LTPS IPS display that comes protected with Corning Gorilla Glass on top. It runs on Android 7.1 Nougat and is powered by 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 octa-core SoC paired with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 508 GPU. It comes with 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded further up to 2TB via microSD card.

It features  12MP + 8MP dual rear camera setup with PDAF (phase detection autofocus) and CCT (color correlated temperature) dual LED flash, allowing you to capture wide-angle photos and detailed portraits. The 12MP (1.4-micron pixels) autofocus sensor comes with f/2.0 aperture while the 8MP (1.12-micron pixels) ultra wide-angle sensor provides a 120-degree field of view with f/2.2 aperture. It also packs 16MP (1.0-micron pixels) selfie camera that comes packed with an adaptive low light mode, f/2.0 aperture, beautification mode, and LED flash.

The rear camera is capable of identifying objects or landmarks. For example, when you scan a business card, it recognizes the contact details and adds it automatically. It also comes with features like a password manager, one-button navigation, Moto Display, Moto Key and Moto Voice.

It’s a dual SIM (Nano) smartphone that comes packed with 3000mAh battery and supports TurboPower fast charging via 15W charger rated to fuel up 6 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes. Connectivity options on board Android One Moto X4 include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0, NFC. GPS/ GLONASS/ A-GPS, FM Radio, USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors on the smartphone include a fingerprint sensor (front mounted), gravity sensor, proximity, accelerometer, ambient light, magnetometer, android sensor hub, and gyroscope.
