Project Fi-enabled Android One Moto X4 launched in the U.S.

Google in partnership with Lenovo’s Motorola launched Project Fi enabled Android One smartphone named Moto X4. The smartphone is available to order in the United States via Project Fi’s website at a price of $399 in Sterling Blue and Super Black color options.

With Google’s new trade-in program, you can get up to $165 credit if you trade-in your old Nexus device for Moto X4 and if you trade-in your phone by October 5, you can earn $50 extra Fi credit. The company has promised that Moto X4 will get Android 8.0 Oreo update by the end of this year and Android P next year.

Google introduced Project Fi a while ago aiming to “make your wireless experience fast, easy and fair—with access to three national 4G LTE networks, and international roaming at no extra cost.” “The launch of Android One moto x4 on Project Fi is the next step in our commitment to work with more partners and expand Android One to new places,” said the company in a blog post.


Android One Moto X4 sports 5.2-inch LTPS IPS display that comes protected with 2.5D + 3D Corning Gorilla Glass. It runs on Android 7.1 Nougat and is powered by 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 octa-core SoC paired with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 508 GPU. It comes with 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded further up to 256GB via microSD card. The device is “packed with a pure Android experience, advanced hardware, and great network connectivity.”

It features  12MP + 8MP dual rear camera setup with PDAF (phase detection autofocus) and CCT (color correlated temperature) dual LED flash, allowing you to capture wide-angle photos and detailed portraits. The 12MP (1.4-micron pixels) autofocus sensor comes with f/2.0 aperture while the 8MP (1.12-micron pixels) ultra wide-angle sensor provides a 120-degree field of view with f/2.2 aperture. It also packs 16MP (1.0-micron pixels) selfie camera that comes packed with an adaptive low light mode, f/2.0 aperture, and LED flash.

It’s a single SIM (Nano) smartphone that comes packed with 3000mAh battery and supports TurboPower fast charging, rated to fuel up 6 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes. Connectivity options on board Android One Moto X4 include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC. GPS/ GLONASS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors on the smartphone include a fingerprint sensor, gravity sensor, proximity, accelerometer, ambient light, magnetometer, android sensor hub, and gyroscope.
