Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced that the Metro services will remain closed till April 14, 2020, due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
“We have received a few queries regarding the tenure of the closure of the Metro services. It is hereby informed that, in light of the lockdown issued by the government, Metro services will remain closed till 14 April 2020,” said DMRC.
India has been put on complete lockdown from March 25, 2020, to April 14, 2020. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself announced the world’s largest lockdown while addressing the nation on March 24, 2020.
The number of Coronavirus cases in India, as of now, has climbed to around 680 of which 16 are fatal cases and about 45 infected have recovered.
“Looks like we’ll be taking an extended period of rest and social distancing. We hope you do too. Stay home and stay safe,” appealed DMRC.
