Battlegrounds Mobile India, also known as BGMI, is now accessible for download on the Google Play store in India. After being banned by the Indian government last year, the game can now be preloaded on Android smartphones in anticipation of its relaunch next week. Developer Krafton has confirmed that the game will be playable in India starting from May 29.
As per MoS IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Battlegrounds Mobile India has received a three-month “trial approval” in the country. Krafton announced on Saturday that the game could be preloaded via the Google Play store. However, iOS users currently do not have the option to preload the game on their smartphones.
Krafton recently announced that Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) will make its return to India, almost a year after it was banned in July of the previous year. The game gained immense popularity and managed to amass over 100 million users in India within a year of its initial launch in 2021. BGMI serves as the successor to the widely popular PUBG Mobile, which is among several apps and games that are still banned in the country.
During the past week, Battlegrounds Mobile India was made available for download to some Android users. However, those who downloaded the game encountered issues as the app displayed an error indicating that the servers were offline, rendering the game non-functional.
Additionally, several adjustments have been made to the game, including the implementation of playtime restrictions. It has been reported that the color of blood in the game has also been altered, changing from red to blue or green. These modifications could be part of the efforts to comply with local regulations and guidelines.
